Make Money Online with Lemonade
Do you recall the days when having a Lemonade stand was a brilliant idea. No matter how sour is sweet the lemonade turned out to be, the neighbors would be gracious and purchase some.
Well, I recently came across a site called Lemonade. They have taken the idea of the old lemonade stand and made a cute widget that can make money for you. You load the widget with items that you recommend from major retail stores. They offer you around 2 million products to choose from. With such a large selection you are sure to find really good deals. They do not offer an option at this time to load it with your items.
It’s a very easy process. Free to register, takes about 5 minutes. Customize the widget and place it on MySpace, Facebook or your blog. Payouts are made using Paypal.

Lemonade stands let you make money by sharing in the commission from the sale of products and advertising placements. The commissions on product sales vary by retailer and the payouts for specific offers change on a daily basis.
In addition to recommending products, you can select from a database of retail offers and advertisements to add to your stand. These offers may include free shipping, percentage off products, seasonal specials and offers to sign up for services. The good news is that you make money when someone takes advantage of any of the offers featured in your stand.
For example, if a stand visitor buys $100.00 worth of merchandise from your stand at a 5% commission the stand generates $5.00 in revenue. Additionally, if a stand visitor signs up for a wireless plan via your stand and the wireless provider pays a sign up incentive of $30.00 the stand generates $30.00 in revenue. One of the coolest things about what we’ve done is make Lemonade free to use and you keep 80% of the money generated from your stand and we keep 20% to pay the bills around here. So, in this example, your Lemonade Stand made $5 + $30 = $35 in total revenue and you would have earned $28.00.

It is a cool widget but it has one major flaw:
You *share* the commissions?
Surely, as marketers, we should be directly promoting the products and getting ALL the commissions
That said it’s a nice, attractive widget and easy to install, so perhaps it would make a good addition to any site.

If you are using WordPress as the core part of your affiliate marketing site you need to know that WordPress by default not only pings when you post a new item but it also pings when you update or edit a post. So if you proofread your posts and find errors or have to change out links etc WordPress pings every time you save the post. This has still not been fixed as of WordPress 2.

Most online work requires you to have some sort of specialized technical skill sets. You should never pay to start an online job. Any site that requires you to pay to work is definitely a scam. On the other hand, if you are not technically qualified for most online jobs, then your best bet is starting your own home based business. Starting a business does require up front cost.
The quickest way I know to make some extra cash is by selling stuff on ebay or searching craiglist for work- these are normally only short-term fixes. I’ve tried them both and lost interest very quickly.
