Amazon no longer offers Bill Me Later

As of December 31, 2008 Amazon will no longer offer BillMeLater as a payment method. All sales and orders processed with BillMeLater prior to 12/21/08 will continue to be processed.

It does not surprise me that Amazon will terminate their relationship with BillMeLater. If you recall back in October I informed you of eBay purchasing BillMeLater. With eBay as the new owner, they would have access to information Amazon would not want their noses in.

I have mixed emotions of Amazon not offering BillMeLater. When Amazon initially offered BillMeLater, I ran campaigns promoting the service. My sales nearly doubled that week alone. Buyers calling asking for details about BillMeLater. eBay has too much and Monopoly is what comes to mind.

This is a big year for eCommerce as well. You will find Google Checkout becoming more popular and eCrater stronger and more popular. This is a great time to sell or start selling online. You have options and many of them. Some requiring a small investment and other absolutely Free.

eBay Sellers Can Use ProPay for Payments

ProPay partners with eBay. As previously announced eBay will allow the use of ProPay for sellers. ProPay the following features to sellers:

· A fully functioning merchant account – Once your ProPay account is set up, you can accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover from anyone whether they have a ProPay account or not.

· Online virtual terminal – Key in mail, phone, or in-person transactions with ProPay’s online virtual terminal.

· Faster Funds – The funds from processing your customers’ credit cards may be available in your account within 24 hours.

· ProPay card reader – This revolutionary service allows you to process transactions securely without ever collecting, processing, or storing sensitive cardholder data. The ProPay card reader can process transactions real-time or you can collect transaction data remotely while away from your computer and process them later.

· Telephone processing – Get immediate authorization for mobile transactions with ProPay’s interactive telephone (IVR) system.

· Email invoices – Send an email to your customer requesting payment via a secure online payment form.

· Fixed rates – With ProPay, what you see is what you get. You’ll always know exactly what you’ll pay for each transaction.

· Live customer support – Our customer support representatives are available to help you with your questions and concerns Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 8:00pm Central Time.

ProPay does charge an Annual Member Fee, the Interest is higher and monthly limitations are placed. For high volume Sellers this option is not recommend. You may want to keep all your options open; its always a good idea to establish yourself with various online payment services.

Get your own Merchant Account. Its not as difficult as you might think. You will stand a better chance at a lower rate and would not have such low selling limits.

Some Merchant Services may place restrictions on your account based on your credit history.

Such restrictions may be:

1) Holding a percentage from each Sale for a set amount of time

2) Additional Guarantor

The majority of the Merchant Services will also require a personal guaranty. If you must sign one make sure to your consult your Business Attorney.

I will also open an account with this site for the new eBay sellers account I plan to open. This should be interesting.

eBay pushes Paypal on you

Paypal

Paypal

For all you newbies on ebay. You will need to be careful with eBay’s new Policy . They are now Forcing you to accept Paypal. The word has spread. Some are surprised while others and I have been already warning you to have your own merchant account for payment processing.

In the last month eBay has limited the accounts of sellers for not accepting Paypal. According to eBay; they want to create a safe trading environment. They also, stated on the email and their site; if you have a Merchant Account to accept credit card payments you can use it. LIES

I have a friend who did submit to eBay (as a test ) his Google Checkout information. Google now offers you a way to accept credit card payments. When this information was provided to eBay; they refused it. eBay sated “Google Checkout” is not a company with the financial history and cannot be accepted.

Okay, no problem. He then faxed over to them his Merchant Account information he holds with Chase Bank. Hmm… what did eBay do??? They took 15 days to approve it. They removed the limitations they imposed on his account. Only to suspend his account 48 hours later. =))

Pleassssssse…….. this was predictable. eBay of course, does not want sellers with so much control.

(I will explain how you have control with your Merchant Account vs Paypal)

So if you do not want to accept Paypal do not sell on eBay. They will shut you down.
Wait…. it gets better.
So now, you have eBay suspending his selling account.

What happens next is childish!!!

eBay, emailed all of the buyers he sold too and advised them to Charge Back their credit card immediately and to open disputes with Paypal for Fraud. ???

You gotta be kidding me.

He has sold about $25,000 worth of merchandise in one month. Luckily he had only 5 large orders to fill. However, this is where eBay allows and encourages those BAD BUYERS to surface.
With the seller having the proof of delivery; some buyers made claims of Non-receipt. Their back-up; eBay told us to file this claim. Duh! Right?

Come on, if you are an honest buyer. You would not file a claim for something already delivered and accepted for several weeks now. Needless to say, eBay created a Huge Headache for him. He was able to work with his buyers fill the last few orders and focus selling from his website.

eBay has come up with clever way to bully you into accepting Paypal and over paying on invoices. I have a great story on their huge over billing SCAM.
Get on board with eBay now, before the get rid of auctions. Just having an aboutMe page on their site is good enough to get you on search engines and FREE Traffic.
