Poor Customer Support at Coaster Furniture of America

Poor Customer Support at Coaster Furniture of America. Dealing with the Representatives at Coaster Co in the Will Call Department is useless. Margie, Office Manager to Will- Call department fails to assist or help customers with any questions or concerns. Margie’s lack of service is really due to the lack of communication of Coaster Company in overall to their customers.

Life is really easy and so should doing business. Had Coaster Company informed their customers of any changes at anytime; then the proper steps should be taken and can be expected to be adhered to.

My advice doing business with Coaster or any other company is to always be on your toes. Be prepared so you do not end up doing 4 times the work.

Businesses are to inform their customers of changes to their Policy or Terms and Conditions. Acknowledgments of changes are commonly done in the Furniture Industry. However, Coaster Furniture representative and Sale Representatives fail to provide you with the proper support or information.

I’m back……

Wow, its been month since my last post. A small update for my regular readers and blogging buds. I have been out due to the inhability to type / use my hands as much.

Due to the high amout of hours I was typing  on my laptop and PC, I suffered never damage on both my hands. This was the most incredible pain. Not able to pick up items, not able to hold or feel when they fell from my hands. Now, I am doing a lot better and only have minimal pain and still have numbness on a couple of my fingers.

What you should do to avoid this:
Limit the amount of houres spent on the keyboard
Take frequent breaks
Excersice
keep hydrated
and see your Doctor the moment something feels odd with your exptremities

I kept putting off the visit to the Doctor until one day, while driving, my hand went numb. So please take care of yourself.

Blogging was placed on hold, as my income really has come from selling online and not blogging. I have had help with two other blogs and money comes in steadly from them.

Have experienced growing pains with one blog and do I have a lot to share about those.

As for my e-Commerce stores, that was easier to mamange as I do have people helping me daily.  And I did not have to type or lift anything. Just had to overseee daily activity.

Just thought you might want to know ….. and to encourage you to take care of yourself, nerve damage is painfull……..

:)

BlueHost left me feeling BLUE

Blogging has taken over my life….somewhat. I have a blog that is generates a ridiculous amount of traffic. Its really more than my hosting company can handle and now I need to get a my own dedicated server. Now, I was doing some homework and figured out that it is best to stay with Hostgator.

In my quest to find another hosting company I did open an account with BlueHost. (I highly recommend that you use at least one other hosting company for other sites. I have so many blogs that I have 2 accounts with Hostgator and one with Godaddy. )

It was a poor experience. Truly surprised that none on the customer service representatives were of any assistance. The live chat kept me online for 15 minutes waiting for a response; even after I advised them  that I was still waiting and would cancel my account if  there was no response prompt response.

Unlike Hostgator; BlueHost does ask that you pay for hosting for one year (min) upfront at 6.95 per month. I will say that the Control Panel is easy to use and BlueHost does offer many Video Tutorials. The lack of customer service was reason enough for me to cancel my account.

For now, I will continue to use Hostgoat, Godaddy and Yahoo for now. If you are looking for a hosting company for your blog highly recommend Hostgator they are reliable and customer service oriented. The have an easy to us control panel and many tools to assist you. Of course for your blog I also recommend Word Press….. Have fun  :)

New Direction

A New direction for whateverebay. The new name for my blog will be WhateverSuccess. Success is truly what goal you set and what you determine success to be. I have decided to make this a blog of various business topics….the end result for it to serve as a guide and base for any type of business you want to enter in.

Many of the emails I receive and even some of my friends are about them knowing that they can do something but NO IDEA what or where to start. As anyone that is successfully running a business would know…It does all begins with an “Idea”. Once you have that “Idea” you can start by creating a chart with goals and questions.

There are many sites out there that offer you access to a data base of sources for products anywhere from $29.00 a month or up to $5,000.00 for a membership. Whether you invest 29 0r 5k that is money no one would like to do without. Therefore, I am going to provide you with names or sources, trade information and all the tools that I have used to help me succeed selling online and helping others succeed.

Don’t forget ….it all starts with an “Idea” :)

Trick or Treat for Business

Last year, Halloween was not much of a festive holiday around my community. This year things look brighter, many did lose their homes to the economy but in the bright side many have benefit by being able to purchase a home in a community they may have no otherwise been able to afford.

In my opinion Las Vegas / Henderson is a good place to find a deal if you can afford to have your property sit there for a while. Anyhow, this is my Trick or Treat business tip: Promote your business this Halloween with special treats for the kids or parents. Here is how….

If you are giving out candy, place a sticker with  your Store Name, blog, or website store. Kids love stickers, so aside from just giving out candy; sneak in some nice stickers. Of course not to obvious after all they would be your neighbors kids etc….

Or, donate to your church Harvest Festival, community Halloween event, school etc.. Banners and flyers are fine, but unless you spend some serious money for a eye catching banner its not going to do much.Food, such as baked goods are always a hit. Get to a consumers heart through the tummy.   :)

Thinking of volunteering this time of the year? That is also an opportunity to expose your business. Create some fun and not to obvious T-Shirts for your business. Wear them when out; you never know when the charity you volunteer for might get some Free TV Time.

What are your creative ways to get some traffic?

Check Stock for delays

This is not just the time of the year for Sales (Shopping) but it is also the time of the year when sellers may experience delays with their orders due to the weather conditions. The current situation with many Islands in the Pacific (my heart goes out to all) is a horrible example of  how you can also be affected. Keep in constant contact with your suppliers regarding any re-orders.

I learned this the hard way. Several years back there was a terrible storm off the China Coast and many boats were sitting on the dock. None where allowed to leave until the weather conditions permitted. Keep in mind that one day delay can mean a two week delay to you. Check your inventory and stock accordingly.

Educate your buyers, take the time to send out newsletters of potential delays for ground and air shipments due to weather. Having a blog would be a fantastic way to get the message out.

Both sides of the Retailer

A post at Tamebay took me back in time. Back in the day when I was just a guppy in the eBay marketplace world. Now, I am not at all insinuating that I am a shark, but I certainly not that naive.

Today eBay presented a petition signed by 750,000 eBayers to the European Parliament, asking for amendments to EU competition law to stop brands from restricting the sale of their products on the internet.

This has affected all of us at some point of our selling career. A few years back when I sold on eBay, I decided to offer a certain line of Home Decor. Now, when I opened the account no stipulation was made on how I could market the product or even if I had to offer it at a minimum Sale Price. I did extremely well with this line on eBay. So well, that one of my competitors that had been offering the same line called the Counsel of the VENDOR we both purchased from and got my account closed. I know this because the assistant to BLANK informed me.

The house Attorney for that Vendor sent me an email that my last order was canceled and that I would no longer be allowed to carry their product. All because they claimed I offered it too low and they did not want their product line offered in a place like eBay. (Big Mistake)  :)

I was furious. I knew exactly what occurred; it was Insult to Injury. The nerve. I presented my argument to no avail and my competition on eBay continued to sell and finally her sales picked up as I was forced to remove my listings.

The VENDOR favored the other seller; no where in the Terms of the Contract was such language expressed. I did not pursue this matter simply because I was insulted and knew that it truly was their loss not mine. I to this date check on the sales of then my competitor and she still does not sell anywhere as much as I did them. Pretty petty.

This experience thought me plenty.

1) Company name for purchasing should differ from your online – At least on auction sites – Think umbrella

2) Have them provide you with ALL Terms and Policies – Signatures from both ideal

3) There are some very sad people out there….. LOL  – do not let them bring you down.

Now, the case eBay has brought before the European Parliament is a step to help retailers (online sellers) exercise their right to sell Brand Name Goods where they want too. Many retailers have accounts with Gucci, Prada etc…. Especially now, most Brick and Mortar stores need to be able to compete and offer a variety online or on sites like eBay in order to survive.

If the Vendor you are dealing with expresses their position prior to you investing money and time to sell their product; then I do feel it is fair. However, if no such stipulation exist and you impose this on your retailers then I do feel its time for retailers to unite and exercise their rights. Times have changed. Designers themselves are now working with eBay to have their Private Labels on their site. In my situation the Vendor simply imposed a restriction that did not exist to help my competitor succeed. But now, with the success so many retailers have found on the internet it is not only the Brick and Mortar store sellers (that do not want to keep with the times) but Designers that want to place restrictions on us on How, When and Where to sell…….

Does “Free Trade” mean anything?

R.I.P Patrick Swayze

So young and brave. For anyone that had a loved one pass on from battling cancer then you know that they are in a better place. Patrick Swayze was huge when I was in Jr. High School. OMG! I can remember how my girlfriends and I would torture our boyfriends trying to get them to dance like Patrick Swayze. Of course let’s not forget Ghost.

Patrick Swayze seemed to have enjoyed his life, short but he lived it the way he wanted too. Here is a clip of the song from Dirty Dancing “I Had The Time of My Life”…. and thanks to what a great actor he was; I certainly had fun with this piece.

What are your favorite moments of Patrick Swayze’s career?

Michael Jackson Memorial 1958-2009 “I Will Be There”

Michael Jackson Memorial (1958-2009) “I Will Be There” will be performed today by Mariah Carey. I recall the first time I heard this piece……. it was with Mariah Carey and of course once I heard Michael Jackson I was hooked. :)

Mariah Carey

Michael Jackson (Jackson 5)

Lyrics: I Will Be There by Mariah Carey
You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back
Where there is love
I’ll be there

I’ll reach out my hand to you
I’ll have faith in all you do
Just call my name
And i’ll be there

And oh, woah,
I’ll be there to comfort you
Build my world of dreams around you
I’m so glad I found you yeah,
I’ll be there with a love so strong
I’ll be your strength
You know i’ll keep holdin on

Let me fill you heart with joy and laughter
Togetherness, well it’s all i’m after
Just call my name
And i’ll be there

I’ll be there to protect you,(yeah baby)
With an unselfish love that respects you
Just call my name
And i’ll be there

And oh woah
I’ll be there to comfort you
Build my world of dreams around you
You know i’m so glad I found you yeah (so glad baby)
I’ll be there with a love so strong
I’ll be your strength
You know i’ll keep holdin on

If you should ever find someone new
I know she better be good to you
‘Cos if she dosoen’t, then i’ll be there

Don’t you know baby, yeah yeah
I’ll be there
I’ll be there, yeah
Just call my name and i’ll be there
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I’ll be there baby
You know i’ll be there, yeah
Just call my name
And i’ll be there
Just call my name
And i’ll be there

Card Printing for Business and Homeschool

Recently I attended a trade show where you are required to present your business card, company ID and verification of Membership. This is more than the usual form of ID requested at other Trade Shows. Having card printers do come in handy for both your business and surprisingly homeschool ID card printing needs. Aside from the obvious reasons you may need to have a company ID for yourself; think about the potential growth of your company. If you plan to hire Sales People, Drivers, or send company representatives to trade shows on your behalf ID card printers definitely come in handy. Keep in mind attending Blog World Expo. For the Blog Show you would also want to have nifty business cards.

What surprised me this month is that I had to provide school ID for my kids to participate in certain events taking place this summer. Also, in order to obtain a Teachers’ discount at stores like Lakeshore Learning a school ID is required. I am sure now that I am actively attending trade shows and do plan to hire additional Team Members the card printer will be of great use. If I get that Purchase Order approved with a certain school, I know I will need an ID for my driver(s).

Do you have a need for company ID’s? Have you been required to produce a company ID at an unsual function?
