Beso.com Announces Affiliate Program for Content Publishers: From Mega-Sites to Independent Bloggers and Shopping Influencers

Beso.com, the third largest fashion and style website, announced today the launch of its pay-per-click affiliate program, the Beso Affiliate Program.

The Beso Affiliate Program is designed for shopping based content, the focus of many lifestyle and fashion content creators—both big and small—as a way to monetize their retail and shopping related content.  Big, multi-channel sites, independent bloggers and vloggers, and even influencers whose sole platform is a social media network are eligible to participate. The program enables users to generate referral revenue on a pay-per-click basis, as opposed to a percentage of sales.

With this program, content creators have access to millions of products, spanning thousands of retailers via its user friendly affiliate portal.  Affiliates simply search for the products that they want to promote and Beso retrieves content based on its editorially influenced algorithm; allowing the user to grab the link or code and embed it.

David Weinrot, SVP, Operations & Business Development for Shopzilla, Inc., which operates Beso, explains: “We’ve designed an affiliate program that meets the needs of the vast spectrum of content creators on the web.  You don’t need to be particularly technically savvy to use the program.  It’s easy to get links and is based on a straightforward revenue-generating model.  Publishers get paid on clicks, which can quickly translate into real money.”

Leading lifestyle blogger, Joanna Goddard of A Cup of Jo, was an early adopter of Beso’s program. “The Beso Affiliate Program is an incredible tool for all my shopping posts.  Not only is it easy for me to use, but it’s a great way to show my readers all the stores that carry each item (and where they can find the best price!). The program also helps me learn which products my readers respond to, and which they just don’t.  Plus, the team is always there to answer all of my questions and streamline the process.”

The Beso Affiliate program enables bloggers such as Joanna Goddard to monetize their blog without compromising its integrity.  Many bloggers are interested in making money from their blog, but are not currently doing so.  According to Technorati’s State of the Blogosphere 2011 survey, only 14% of bloggers earn a salary for blogging.  That leaves display ads, affiliate marketing links, and search ads as the most common way bloggers generate revenue from their blogs.  For those that do not have advertising on their blogs, 52% say they don’t want their blogs to be cluttered with ads.  Beso’s Affiliate Program is designed to meet the needs of all fashion and lifestyle content creators by allowing bloggers to monetize what keeps their readers loyal — the content, not the ads.

Beyond A Cup of Jo, numerous others are currently using the program, including Cupcakes and Cashmere, Oh Joy!, and Day in the Life of Sccastaneda. “We’ve learned a lot from working through the process with these sites,” Weinrot adds. “We’re excited to make it more widely available to publishers and influencers.”

iPad 2: Chitika Has An Ad For That

Tablets are not smartphones.  Then again, they’re not home computers, either, and their share of Internet usage is projected to be nearly 4% of all Internet traffic by the end of 2011.  Fortunately, online advertising network Chitika already has the solution for web publishers: specialized ads designed specifically for iPad, iPad 2 and Android tablets.

Chitika mobile ads work on all mobile devices, including the iPad 2 image:

Across the Chitika network, tablets and mobile devices make up 15% of publishers’ revenue, and that number is growing by 5% every week.  Thanks to Chitika’s innovative, class-leading mobile ads, publishers can immediately boost their revenue by 10-20% just by taking advantage of the tablet and mobile traffic they already have.

“With 5% of traffic contributing 15% of our revenue, how could we not put our full weight behind this mobile product?” asks Chitika CEO Venkat Kolluri.  ”That’s why we made sure our ads work as well on iPads as they do on iPhones.  A tablet has the real estate of a laptop and the personal touch of a smartphone, so you have to be very specific in making ads for users of iPads, Xooms, and the next hot tablet to hit the market.”

The effect has been felt immediately: according to Chitika‘s research department, iPad users are clicking on the new ad 76% more than desktop ads.

The tablet ads come several months after Chitika released their mobile ads, and like the mobile ads, these ads detect what a user is browsing on when they come to a Chitika publisher and automatically transform into the right ad for the device.  iPads, iPhones, Android devices, or a home PC; the Chitika ad unit is automatically optimized for any device that hits it.

Sears Holdings Issues Open Letter to Amazon.com Affiliates

Sears Holdings Corporation today issued an open letter to Amazon affiliates.

Dear Amazon.com Affiliates,

Amazon.com, in response to e-Fairness legislation, is once again threatening to leave states and terminate relationships with all its affiliates rather than contribute to the local community by collecting and remitting the sales tax that is due.

This time, one of those states is our home state of Illinois and we want affiliates here, in California and around the country to know that you have a place with us. We recognize and value our relationships with our over 6,500 affiliate partners AND the state and local communities we serve.

As states continue to grapple with increasing budget deficits and businesses, large and small, slowly make their way out of one of the worst economic declines in recent history – Amazon turns its back on its customers, affiliate partners and the community to maintain an unfair competitive advantage that ultimately puts Amazon’s customers at risk.

We hope that you’ll consider becoming a part of the Sears Affiliate Team. Our websites serve hundreds of millions of customers annually and we are committed to ensuring that our relationships with our affiliate partners and communities are mutually beneficial.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Respectfully,

Imran Jooma

Black Halo Announces New Affiliate Program

Black Halo, the cutting edge fashion label, announced today it has launched its affiliate marketing program. This announcement gives fashion lovers around the world a chance to market and profit on Black Halo’s sultry yet sophisticated dresses, skirts and blouses.

True to its name, Black Halo finds inspiration in the beauty of contradiction. From structured pencil dresses that read more vamp than traditional, to modern draping with Madam Gres roots, designer Laurel Berman fuses rebel with romance to create a collection at once both edgy and feminine.

Black Halo’s core aesthetic stems from simple principles of construction and form. Laurel Berman, who has elevated the brand to a level in contemporary fashion that can be considered iconic, finds inspiration in textiles, a cut or draping often influenced by the feel of the fabric. Her careful silhouettes reference the intricacies of couture tailoring traditions. The result is a look of glamour without pretense, which has made the collection a long-standing favorite among celebrities, including Heidi Klum, Blake Lively, Fergie, Lady Gaga, Rachel Evan Wood and Eva Mendes.

Black Halo is designed to summon natural inner beauty and confidence that is both liberating and empowering to women when worn. Partnering with Commission Junction, Black Halo is confident the pieces are in place for a mutually successful campaign.

“We are very happy to be working with Commission Junction, who has been in operation since 1998,” a spokesperson for the brand stated. “Its combination of experience in affiliate marketing and Black Halo’s internationally renowned brand will be a great fit.”

Atma Links Releases Industry’s First Meta-Search Engine For Affiliate Marketers

Atma Links has released an affiliate marketing meta-search engine that streamlines the time intensive process of manually affiliating links.

Active affiliate marketers spend as much as two hours each day managing their affiliate programs.  A significant portion of this time is spent inefficiently navigating more than a dozen affiliate networks to determine which networks carry specific products.

The Atma Links meta-search engine accelerates this process by aggregating products across all of the major affiliate networks to deliver a simple one-stop-shop for affiliate marketers.  With a single search, publishers can discover new products and, with one click, receive new affiliate links to those items.

“Clearly, there are a number of product search engines on the market.  However, we wanted to build the first open search engine designed specifically for affiliate marketers.  We expect that this Alpha version will significantly expedite the process of manually affiliating links.  Going forward, we are planning to add more features to the discovery piece of our search engine, equipping affiliates with deeper product metrics and insights.” -Chris Dickson, Founder & CEO

The Atma Links search engine is a free web application.  There is no installation or download required and there are no hidden fees.  Affiliates can select to persistently store their affiliate IDs with Atma Links for future use; however, this is not required.

The Alpha release has been made public to all affiliate marketers.  Product coverage, at the time of this release, includes over 8 million products across many verticals, though it is strongest within consumer electronics.

A Suite of Products for Affiliate Marketers

In addition to its free search engine, Atma Links offers publishers other powerful tools to automate and optimize affiliate marketing.

The Atma Links “Text-to-Link” technology automatically builds brand new affiliate links from contextual references to products from anywhere on the web.  Atma analyzes webpages in-real time for chunks of plain text that match a database of millions of online products.  With this technology, Atma Links is able to create new affiliate links within user-generated content that would be otherwise impossible to affiliate.

The Atma Links “Auto Affiliation” technology automatically discovers and affiliates old links on a website that are eligible for affiliation.  Collectively, these solutions help affiliates earn significantly more revenue while eliminating hours of manual management.

The Atma Links Team

Based in New York City, Atma Links was founded in November 2009 by software engineers, Chris Dickson and Erik Nygren, as a user friendly alternative to traditional in-text advertising.  Atma works with product oriented sites to generate incremental revenue via informative and unobtrusive affiliate links.  Although they pay like advertisements, links by Atma are better described as tools for users.

Atma Links is now powering over 30 million impressions each month among product oriented blogs and forums.

Technology Start-Up Announces Application to Help Affiliates and Merchants Leverage Localization Trends

LuckyLocal.com , a free consumer site which lets shoppers research products on-line and pick them up locally, today announced an application program interface (API) to seamlessly enable hyper-local & affiliate network sites to help shoppers research a purchase online and conveniently pick it up locally.

Lucky Local has been developing the technology for the past year to provide affiliates with access to product information, pricing comparisons and real-time inventory availability so they can cater to the growing consumer demand for hyper-local content and services. The API facilitates integration and generates and tracks commissions for both e-commerce and local in-store sales. It supports the company’s goal of extending its local search functionality by enrolling thousands of affiliate and hyper-local sites. This strategy contrasts that of Milo.com, a competitor recently acquired by e-Bay.

“We have been focused on technology and product development since our inception,” said Dov Herman, LuckyLocal.com’s Founder and CEO. “This is a major milestone and a stepping stone for us to build out our affiliate and merchant networks. Our focus for the next 3 months will be to roll out the API and raise capital to support phase 2 of our plan.”

The company, backed by an angel investor, plans to aggressively raise capital to accelerate its business plan in order to take advantage of opportunities created by the intersection of hyper-localization and e-commerce.

Lucky Local search technology can be used by any affiliate, hyper-local website or mobile application to create local shopping websites and incremental revenue streams. Affiliates and Merchants interested in learning more should contact affiliates@luckylocal.com.

Make Money with Affiliate Accounts on website or blog

You want to sell online and you have several excuses why not to sell…. If finding product and money for inventory are not the reason then try Affiliate accounts.

I myself have an online affiliate store that offers the consumer a variety of beautiful home decor products that I do not have to ship. I got the inspiration from Gifts.com. I simply wanted to be able to have a site where I could offer my input and share deals I have found at other sites. Allowing me more freedom than the standard eBay and Amazon Affiliate network.

Visit Gifts.com you will see that they offer the consumer thousands of beautiful items with referral links.

To get started:
Look around other sites or blogs; note what you do like about them.
Consider eBay or Amazon to start (Amazon is great) – its easier to get approval for an affiliate account
If you have an existing site or blog try Commission Junction or Link Share for affiliates. I would recommend that you star with Commission Junction.

Commission Junction has hundreds of affiliates in many of the most popular categories.

I have accounts with both Commission Junction and Link Share and could get paid commission for sending referrals (such as you). The links I have placed on this and 95% of my post do not have affiliate or paid links. I want you to try them for the reason that I do make money using them outside this blog.

Leave a  comment and share your experiences with our readers. If you have a site that offers more information please feel free to leave a link with your comment that will take the reader directly to additional information.

Make Money online offering Coupons – Affiliate Accounts

Make Money online offering Coupons. This time I am referring to special offers through Affiliate accounts. Not the clipping type coupons or yowza app.

Depending on the niche of your online store or blog you can create a new page or category offering Special Codes or links to “X” store for “X” savings. Not only will you add more content to your store but you will also find that customers will return to check out what new deals you are offering at your store and for others.

For example: In my home furnishings and decor store, I offer a Coupons for Art frames, linens, sports furniture, bedding, lighting and crafts. This allows me to offer a larger variety to my customer, fill a potential need and make some extra money….

I do have a site where I am only offering a limited amount of inventory, I have Adsense and affiliate links. Should my potential buyer not find what they are searching for they might find an Ad from Google or an affiliate link that does meet their current needs. With several options offered I have increased my chances of making money.

If you are currently not using any Affiliate links you should reconsider and select the few that suit your site. Or even create a new site only offering Coupons for a specific niche.
