BlueHost left me feeling BLUE

Blogging has taken over my life….somewhat. I have a blog that is generates a ridiculous amount of traffic. Its really more than my hosting company can handle and now I need to get a my own dedicated server. Now, I was doing some homework and figured out that it is best to stay with Hostgator.

In my quest to find another hosting company I did open an account with BlueHost. (I highly recommend that you use at least one other hosting company for other sites. I have so many blogs that I have 2 accounts with Hostgator and one with Godaddy. )

It was a poor experience. Truly surprised that none on the customer service representatives were of any assistance. The live chat kept me online for 15 minutes waiting for a response; even after I advised them  that I was still waiting and would cancel my account if  there was no response prompt response.

Unlike Hostgator; BlueHost does ask that you pay for hosting for one year (min) upfront at 6.95 per month. I will say that the Control Panel is easy to use and BlueHost does offer many Video Tutorials. The lack of customer service was reason enough for me to cancel my account.

For now, I will continue to use Hostgoat, Godaddy and Yahoo for now. If you are looking for a hosting company for your blog highly recommend Hostgator they are reliable and customer service oriented. The have an easy to us control panel and many tools to assist you. Of course for your blog I also recommend Word Press….. Have fun  :)

Thanks for this review, Ill be sure to stay away from BlueHost. GoDaddy and HostGator are better.

I was with iHost (I think that’s their name), for a while, but they sucked too. I transfered to JustHost after that, and I’ve had no problems with them at all. Very good service in fact.

  3. Great post, makes me think.

  4. Just had my site suspended yesterday – the reason: keeping backups. Never mind that I was nowhere NEAR my 300 GB limit and the backups were from the site they were hosting for me. Shoot first, ask questions later… am currently looking for a new hosting company.
